Telangana Pharma Plant Explosion Kills 34, CM Reddy Announces Visit

Telangana (The Uttam Hindu): The death toll in the explosion at Sigachi Industries' pharma plant in Pasumyalam, Telangana has risen to 34. District Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj said on Tuesday morning that several bodies were recovered while removing the debris. So far 31 bodies have been recovered from the debris, while three died during treatment in the hospital. The final phase of the rescue operation is still going on.

Chemical reaction may be a major reason behind Monday's fatal accident at the pharma company. According to the company's website, Sigachi Industries Limited is a pharmaceutical company known for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), intermediates, excipients, vitamin-mineral blends, operations and management (O&M) services.
