New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): India is known for its deep rooted faith and diverse traditions, where temples across different regions follow unique customs. In most temples devotees offer prasad to the deity and take it home as a blessing. However, there are several temples in the country where the rules are different and offerings are neither taken home nor consumed in the usual way due to strong religious beliefs.

One such place is Mehandipur Balaji Temple, known for rituals believed to remove negative energies. Here, devotees offer laddus to Lord Balaji but are advised not to eat or carry the prasad home. Similarly, at Kaal Bhairav Temple, liquor is offered to the deity as part of tradition, and devotees do not take it with them as it is considered meant only for the god.

At Naina Devi Temple, offerings must be consumed within the temple premises and taking them outside is considered inauspicious. The Kamakhya Devi Temple follows a different tradition during the Ambubachi festival when the temple remains closed and no prasad is distributed. Meanwhile, Kotilingeshwara Temple is famous for its countless Shivalingas, where offerings are symbolic and not meant to be taken home. These traditions reflect the unique spiritual beliefs associated with each temple and are followed with deep devotion by visitors.
