Raigarh (The Uttam Hindu): A huge controversy has erupted after the demolition of a Hanuman temple in Bhatanpali village of Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. Angry with this incident, Bajrang Dal workers staged a fierce protest and broke and threw away the cross on top of a church located in Bhatanpali village. The workers hoisted a saffron flag in its place. Bajrang Dal alleges that the temple was demolished by three villagers, Nirmal Sarathi, Suraj Sarathi and Hira Sarathi, who had converted to Christianity. They have called it a conspiracy to hurt and offend religious sentiments, which the Hindu society will not tolerate at any cost.

According to the information, the Hanuman temple built in front of the church in Bhatanpali village of Raigarh district was demolished on May 28 by a person who had converted to Christianity. The villagers immediately informed the Bajrang Dal workers about this. After this incident, the Bajrang Dal workers became angry and took action by removing the cross installed in the church and putting up a saffron flag. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and tried to pacify the villagers. However, the Bajrang Dal workers remained adamant on their demands and started demanding action against the culprits.

Angry villagers and Bajrang Dal workers gathered at the spot and started sloganeering after the damage to the Hanuman temple. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, police force has been deployed in the village. The administration has appealed to the people to maintain peace so that the situation can be kept under control. At present, there is tension in the village, but due to the alertness of the police, the situation remains under control. Bajrang Dal workers have also submitted an application to the district administration in this regard, in which it has been alleged that a particular community is luring people and converting them to other religions, and breaking the temple is also a part of this.

Bajrang Dal workers say that this incident has been done in a planned manner with the aim of hurting religious sentiments. At the same time, the police say that the matter is being thoroughly investigated and legal action will be taken against the culprits. The police have appealed to everyone to maintain peace. To maintain law and order in the area, the police is constantly monitoring and additional police force from the district headquarters has also been deployed in the village.
