New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Wednesday is the third day of the monsoon session of Parliament. Proceedings will resume in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, but there is a possibility of uproar due to political tension. An important meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will be held in the Rajya Sabha at 12:30 pm on Wednesday. Apart from this, the time for discussion on Operation Sindoor has been extended to nine hours. This discussion will remain the main focus of the House amid many controversial issues.

On Tuesday, the proceedings of both the Houses were adjourned for the entire day due to protests and uproar by the opposition parties. This uproar was mainly due to two major issues: the work of 'Special Intensive Revision' (SIR) of voter lists in Bihar and the sudden resignation of Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.

At the start of the second day of the session, opposition leaders staged a joint protest outside the 'Makar Dwar' of Parliament. They accused the Election Commission of conducting the SIR campaign in a "partisan and wrong" manner ahead of the elections in Bihar. Big leaders like Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav took part in the protest. They were waving placards and posters alleging electoral manipulation.

When Deputy Chairman Harivansh rejected the adjournment motions moved by several opposition MPs, chaos ensued. Members trooped into the well of the House and started raising slogans. Due to the uproar, the Rajya Sabha was first adjourned till noon, then till 2 pm and finally for the entire day.

The same situation prevailed in the Lok Sabha. Opposition MPs demanded a debate on the SIR campaign and Operation Sindoor, but Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla did not allow it. After this, the protest and uproar increased. After repeated adjournments, finally the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were also adjourned for the whole day.
