Time for new blood": Nitin Gadkari hints at retirement, says "when vehicle runs smoothly, we should withdraw"

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) – Nitin Gadkari, a cabinet minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government and former BJP president, has advocated for retirement and the transition to a new generation. He said that once a system is established and functioning smoothly, the older generation should step back and allow the new generation to take the lead.
Speaking at a press conference in Nagpur, Gadkari was addressing the "Vidarbha-Khasdar Industrial Festival," a project he himself envisioned. The festival is being organized by Ashish Kale, president of the Association for Industrial Development (AID).
Generational change is necessary
Gadkari said that Ashish Kale has successfully engaged the younger generation with the 'Advantage Vidarbha' initiative. He said, "I believe that generational change should happen with time. When the new generation starts taking over the work, the seniors should hand over the responsibility." He further said that Ashish Kale's father is his old friend and now the time has come for the seniors to gradually step down from the active role and hand over the leadership to the new generation. "When the system is firmly established, we should also step back and engage in other constructive work.
"Advantage Vidarbha Expo" Enters Third Year
As AID's chief mentor, Gadkari stated that the "Advantage Vidarbha Expo," to be held in Nagpur from February 6th to 8th, is entering its third year. He said that the Vidarbha region has many capable and innovative entrepreneurs in various sectors who need a common platform.
The Union Minister stated that the primary objective of this three-day event is to establish Vidarbha as a strong and emerging growth center on the country's industrial map. He also emphasized the equal role of industry, agriculture and allied sectors, and the service sector in the overall development of any region.
Many sectors will participate in the 'Advantage Vidarbha Expo'. Industries from diverse sectors like textiles, plastics, minerals, coal, aviation, logistics, IT, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, defence, real estate, renewable energy and startups will participate.
