Rs 140 Crore Gold Donation to Tirupati Temple: CM N Chandrababu Naidu Shares Details

Amaravati (The Uttam Hindu): In the world famous Tirumala Tirupati temple, a devotee has set an example of faith by donating 121 kilograms of gold, which is estimated to be worth Rs 140 crore. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu himself shared the information about this great donation on social media.
Chief Minister Naidu narrated the story of this devotee while addressing a program in Mangalagiri in Guntur district. He said, "A devotee had prayed to Tirupati Balaji to start his business. With the blessings of Lord Venkateswara Swamy, he got great success in his business and earned a profit of Rs 6,000 to 7,000 crore by selling the shares of his company."
CM Naidu further said that when the devotee came to know that the idol of the Lord in the temple is decorated with about 120 kg of gold ornaments every day, he pledged to donate 121 kg of gold in gratitude. The devotee believed that this wealth was given to him by Lord Venkateswara, so he is offering it at his feet.
This is not the first incident of a big donation in the Tirupati temple, but there has been a long tradition of Mahadaan here. From the country's top industrialists like the Ambani family to common devotees, everyone offers gold, diamonds and cash according to their devotion. Talking about this year (2025), in January, a retired IRS officer YVSS Bhaskar Rao donated property worth Rs 3.66 crore, while in May, industrialist Sanjeev Goenka offered a diamond studded gold necklace worth Rs 3.63 crore.
Similarly, in July, Chennai-based Sudarshan Enterprises also offered 2.5 kg gold worth Rs 2.4 crore at the feet of Lord Venkateswara.
