Sonipat (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic road accident occurred early Friday morning on National Highway 44 in Sonipat, where a speeding truck rammed into a car parked along the roadside. Two women, identified as Mandeep Kaur from Tilak Nagar, Delhi and Manpreet Kaur from Amritsar, died on the spot.

According to reports, the incident took place near Golden Hut Dhaba in Rai. The victims were traveling with family members to Murthal to celebrate a child’s birthday. During the journey, they had stopped their car near a roadside shop when the speeding truck crashed into the stationary vehicle.

The impact was so severe that the truck dragged the car for nearly 200 meters. While Mandeep Kaur and Manpreet Kaur died instantly, four other occupants sustained injuries. Their identities are yet to be confirmed.

Police from Rai station reached the spot after receiving information and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the General Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
