Train Accident Averted: Loco Pilot Saves Lives After Pipes Found on Track

Shamli (The Uttam Hindu): The conspiracy to overturn the train going from Delhi to Saharanpur via Shamli was foiled due to the alertness of the loco pilot. Cement and iron pipes and many big stones were placed on the Balwa-Shamli railway track. A major accident was averted due to the train being stopped in time.


This incident happened on Saturday night. When the train which left Delhi at 7 pm and was going to Saharanpur reached between Balwa and Shamli station at around 9:30 pm, the loco pilot saw obstacles on the track. He immediately applied emergency brakes and stopped the train and informed RPF and GRP.


On receiving the information, RPF, GRP, local police and SP Ram Sevak Gautam reached the spot. During the investigation, cement and iron pipes, as well as big stones were removed from the track. At present, RPF has registered a case against unknown persons and the accused are being searched.


Police is raiding the nearby villages. Meanwhile, security has been beefed up on the railway tracks for trains passing through since Sunday morning. RPF and GRP are completely on alert mode.
