Stone Pelters Strike Again: Jan Shatabdi Express Targeted, Window Shattered in Mid-Air

Una (The Uttam Hindu): Once again an incident of stone pelting on a train has come to light in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. On Friday night, the Jan Shatabdi Express (12057) going from Una to Delhi was targeted by anti-social elements, due to which the glass of the window of a coach was shattered. Fortunately, a passenger narrowly escaped in this incident.
According to the information, Hardik Sharma, a resident of Arniala in Una district, was travelling in this train from Kharar to Una. When the train was about 100-200 metres ahead of Rupnagar railway station, someone threw a stone at the train. The stone hit the window of window seat number 48 of coach D9, due to which the glass broke completely.
Passenger Hardik Sharma said that his seat was the same one whose glass broke, but he had changed his seat just before and sat two rows ahead. Because of this, his life was saved. He said that a female passenger sitting near the window was also safe, but pieces of broken glass were scattered on the seat, which told the seriousness of the incident.
Soon after the incident, Hardik Sharma shared the information on social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter) and tagged Indian Railways, RPF Ambala Division, DRM Ambala and Northern Railways. The officials took cognizance of the matter and assured action. However, according to the passenger, calls were received from the police and RPF, but the stone pelters have not been caught yet.
