Indore (The Uttam Hindu) : In a significant development in the murder case of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, the Meghalaya police have arrested a property dealer from Indore for allegedly concealing crucial evidence related to the investigation, officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to police sources, the arrested individual is accused of hiding a bag belonging to Sonam Raghuvanshi, the wife of the deceased. The bag was reportedly concealed in a flat in Indore shortly after the murder, raising suspicions of a broader conspiracy.

Raghuvanshi, a transport businessman from Indore, had recently married Sonam on May 11, 2025. The couple had traveled to Meghalaya for their honeymoon on May 20. Details surrounding the circumstances of the murder remain under investigation, but sources indicate that foul play is strongly suspected.

Police officials said the bag may contain vital clues connected to the case. “The contents of the bag are being examined and could provide a breakthrough in understanding the motive and the sequence of events leading to Raghuvanshi's death,” an official involved in the investigation said.

While the role of Sonam Raghuvanshi is under scrutiny, police have not confirmed whether she is currently being treated as a suspect or a witness. Investigators are also probing possible financial or personal motives.

The property dealer is currently in police custody and will be interrogated further to determine the extent of his involvement. Coordination between the Meghalaya and Madhya Pradesh police departments continues as the case develops. Authorities have promised a thorough investigation and assured the public that no one involved will be spared.
