UP-Bihar bound? Railways got you covered: Confirmed tickets & comfortable ride await!

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): During the summer holidays, there is a huge rush of passengers returning to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar from metropolises like Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. In such a situation, there is hardly any space to stand in the trains and getting a confirmed ticket is no less than winning a war. To alleviate this major problem of the passengers and make their journey comfortable, Indian Railways has taken a great step. For the convenience of the people, Railways has announced the running of many new summer special trains, so that now the migrants will be able to reach their villages and homes without any tension.

Bumper relief received on Danapur and Samastipur route

East Central Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Saraswati Chandra, announced this significant relief, stating that the Railways had taken this important decision in view of the extra crowds expected at stations during the summer vacation. The Railways is specifically operating these summer special trains from Pune and Mumbai to Danapur and Samastipur in Bihar. These trains will greatly facilitate the travel of millions of migrant workers, students, and daily wage laborers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to their homes during the summer holidays.

Special train will run daily between Pune-Danapur

Railways has announced the running of train numbers 01449 and 01450 Pune-Danapur-Hadapsar (Pune) special trains for passengers. This train, running via DDU, Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur and Bhusaval, will run daily till 15th July 2026. Train number 01449 will leave Pune at 15.30 hrs and will reach Danapur on the third day after stopping at Buxar and Ara. Similarly, on the return journey, train number 01450 Danapur-Hadapsar special will leave Danapur at 05.00 hrs till 17th July 2026 and will reach Hadapsar (Pune) the next day evening.

The journey from Lokmanya Tilak to Danapur also became easier

In view of the huge demand of passengers going to Bihar, Railways has also started train numbers 01143 and 01144 Lokmanya Tilak-Danapur-Lokmanya Tilak Special trains. This train will run daily till 15th July 2026. It will leave from Lokmanya Tilak Terminal at 10.30 am and will reach Danapur at 18.45 pm the next day via DDU, Buxar and Ara. On the return journey, this train will leave from Danapur at 21.30 pm till 16th July 2026 and will reach Lokmanya Tilak at 07.45 am on the third day.

Passengers of Samastipur got the gift of weekly train

Railways has also made special arrangements for those travelling from Mumbai to Samastipur and has started weekly train numbers 01043 and 01044. This train will run from Lokmanya Tilak at 12.15 pm every Tuesday from 21st April to 14th July 2026 and will reach Samastipur at 23.45 pm via Danapur, Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur. On the other hand, on the return journey, train number 01044 will leave Samastipur at 03.00 am every Thursday from 23rd April to 16th July 2026 and will reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminal at 16.25 pm the next day.
