UYSF World Yoga Cup 2025: Vanya Sharma brings glory to India with ‘Champion of Champions’ title

Ghaziabad (The Uttam Hindu): In a historic performance at the UYSF World Yoga Cup 2025 held on December 27, 2025 at the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Ghaziabad, India's young yoga prodigy, Vanya Sharma won the prestigious ‘Champion of Champions’ title in the Sub-Junior Girls category. With this extraordinary achievement, Vanya has not only made her school and family proud but also the entire nation.
Hundreds of yoga athletes from 12 countries including the United Kingdom (UK), China, Malaysia, Thailand, Portugal and Sri Lanka, participated in this grand international competition. Amidst tough competition and high-level performances, Vanya Sharma impressed the judges with her excellent technique, balance, flexibility, and confidence securing the overall championship.
Vanya Sharma, a Class 2 student of S.D. Public School, Pitampura performed brilliantly in various categories of the competition. She secured: First place in Traditional Yoga Asanas, Second place in Artistic Pair Yoga with her partner Misha Saini and Second place in the Group Yoga event.
For her outstanding achievements, Vanya was also awarded a scooter, which was a special highlight of the competition.
This success on the international stage at such a young age is a testament to Vanya's exceptional talent, consistent practice and rigorous discipline. Her father and coach, the renowned yoga guru Hemant Sharma, played a crucial role in her achievement. His expert guidance, technical training, and motivation were instrumental in Vanya reaching this milestone.
Additionally, the continuous support, professional training and opportunities to compete at the international level provided by Mata Sports also proved extremely helpful in this historic success.
On this occasion, Mr. Suresh Kumar, World President of the Universal Yoga Sports Federation (UYSF) and Mrs. Jyoti Pal, President of UYSF India extended their heartfelt congratulations to Vanya Sharma on her spectacular victory. Both officials said that winning the 'Champions of Champions' title at such a young age reflects the strength and bright future of Indian yoga talent. They wished Vanya a bright future, saying that she will take India's name to even greater heights on the world stage in the coming years.
