Vaishno Devi Yatra Suspended from October 5 to 7 Due to Bad Weather Warnings

Katra (The Uttam Hindu): The Vaishno Devi pilgrimage has been suspended from October 5 (Sunday) to October 7 due to adverse weather conditions. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board took this major decision prioritizing the safety of devotees after the Indian Meteorological Department issued a weather alert.
It is worth noting that earlier in August, the yatra had to be suspended for 22 days due to landslides, which claimed 34 lives.
The Shrine Board, considering the weather advisory issued on Friday, announced the suspension of the pilgrimage and informed devotees via a post on social media platform X. The board has confirmed that the yatra will resume on October 8, provided weather conditions improve. Officials emphasized that this temporary suspension has been implemented solely for the safety and well-being of the pilgrims, urging everyone to follow the advisory strictly.
