Purnia (The Uttam Hindu): A major accident occurred on the Katihar-Jogbani railway line on Friday morning. Three teenagers died on the spot and two were seriously injured after being hit by the Vande Bharat Express train near Javanpur Gumti at around 5 am. All the teenagers were returning after visiting the Dussehra fair. After the accident, the injured were admitted to Purnia Medical College Hospital for treatment, where their condition remains critical. The incident took place near the Javanpur railway crossing in the Kasba police station area.


Bihar: Five teenagers hit by the Vande Bharat Express in Purnia; three died tragically and two were seriously injured. : According to the information received, these teenagers were on the railway track when the Vande Bharat Express train going from Jogbani to Patna was passing by, when they were hit by the train. The deceased and the injured have been identified as youths from Chandpur Bhangaha village in Banmankhi block of Purnia district, who worked in a Makhana factory in Purnia.


A mobile phone was also recovered from the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that the teenagers had come to attend the Dussehra fair in Kasba and were returning home in the morning when they met with the accident. Upon receiving information about the accident, Kasba police station and a RPF team arrived at the scene. Railway police stated that the families of the deceased have been informed and the bodies will be handed over to them after the post-mortem examination.
