New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A major daylight robbery has been reported from Bengaluru, where a gang looted ₹7.11 crore from a cash van that was headed to refill money in ATMs. Following the incident, police have intensified vehicle checks across the city.

The robbery took place near South End Circle. The cash-van staff were transporting money for ATM loading when a group of 7–8 men arrived in an Innova car. The gang posed as RBI officials and threatened the cash-management team.

They forced the armed guards and other staff out of the vehicle. The robbers then took control of the van and drove the driver towards Dairy Circle. On reaching the flyover, they stopped the vehicle and transferred the cash into their Innova before escaping.

Police are now questioning the cash-van staff. The vehicle had a driver, two armed guards, and one cash-loading employee onboard. The robbers even took the guards and the loading staff with them in their Innova.

Two members of the gang stayed with the driver in the van, while the rest followed in the Innova. A short distance away, the robbers dropped the three staff members and moved ahead. At the Dairy Circle flyover, they unloaded the cash into their car and fled. Investigators later found that the gang used a fake number plate for the operation.
