Burger blame: Junk food linked to unwanted facial hair in women

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In today's times, the problem of unwanted hair (beard-moustache) on the face of young girls and women is increasing rapidly. In the medical world, it is called 'Hirsutism'. Till now, it was only associated with hormonal changes or PCOD, but a new research has revealed the real and shocking reason behind it. Doctors and experts say that not only hormones, but changing lifestyle and indiscriminate consumption of fast food are responsible for this. If you too are fond of burgers, French fries and fried items, then this news can be a warning bell for you.
According to a report by the Russian website 'Izvestia', the excess of fast food in the diet of girls is spoiling the beauty of their face. Actually, burgers, fries and sweets contain a lot of sugar, salt and trans fat. Consumption of these things increases 'insulin resistance' in the body. When the balance of insulin gets disturbed, it directly attacks the hormonal system of the body and increases the level of male hormone (androgen) in the body of women. This increased male hormone becomes the main reason for the growth of thick and black hair on the face, chin and cheeks of girls.
WHO expert and gynecologist at Synergy University, Lyubov Yerofeyeva, has expressed deep concern over this. She says that the most vulnerable time for girls is when they start menstruating. During this period of adolescence, hormonal changes are already taking place in the body. Therefore, if girls eat too much junk food, fried foods, and sweets, the risk increases manifold. Junk food increases obesity, and obesity leads to uncontrolled levels of estrogen and free testosterone, which is the root cause of unwanted hair.
Often girls panic after seeing hair on their face and in a hurry resort to razor or shaving, which makes this problem worse. Doctors have strictly instructed not to adopt any home remedy or shaving without expert advice. The real cure for this problem lies not in beauty parlors, but in a good diet. For treatment, hormonal balance check is necessary. Doctors say that along with medicines and laser treatment, if junk food is excluded from the diet and weight is controlled, then this problem can be got rid of forever.
