Shocking Rise in Life-Threatening Heart Cases Among Youth — Ancient Practice Emerges as a Powerful Shield

New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): In today’s fast-paced world, heart disease is no longer confined to the elderly. Mounting work pressure, unhealthy lifestyles, and poor eating habits are now pushing even teenagers and young adults into the danger zone. Recent research reveals a shocking surge in heart attack cases — doubling in pace over recent years. Experts warn that early lifestyle changes are the key to preventing these tragedies, and one powerful tool stands out: Yoga.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, regular yoga practice can play a crucial role in keeping the heart healthy. Beyond improving physical fitness, yoga also combats mental stress — one of the leading causes of heart attacks.
Yoga enhances heart function by regulating blood circulation, improving oxygen supply, and reducing nerve stiffness. The Ministry highlights a few simple poses that can dramatically improve heart health:
Tadasana (Mountain Pose): Stretches the body, activates chest muscles, boosts blood circulation, and improves oxygen flow to the heart while easing stress.
Marjariasana (Cat Pose): Improves spinal flexibility, reduces body fat (a major risk factor for heart disease), and calms the mind.
Trikonasana (Triangle Pose): Activates major muscle groups, relieves anxiety, and supports heart-friendly posture.
Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose): Enhances strength, flexibility, and blood circulation, reducing the risk of artery blockages.
Utkatasana (Chair Pose): Strengthens the shoulders, back, and legs while boosting blood flow and burning calories.
Health experts advise that incorporating just a few minutes of these yoga asanas into daily life can significantly lower the risk of heart ailments and protect the younger generation from an increasingly deadly trend.
