Mom gives birth to 13-pound baby boy, shattering hospital record!

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The average weight of a newborn baby is usually around 3 kilograms. In many cases, it can even reach 4 to 4.5 kilograms. However, a woman in New York City, USA, has given birth to a baby whose weight is almost twice the normal.

At Cayuga Medical Center, a woman named Terica gave birth to a baby boy weighing 5.9 kilograms (about 13 pounds). The baby has been named Sean Junior. According to the hospital administration, this is the heaviest newborn ever born there. The baby's father, Sean, and mother, Terica, said that they had expected their son to be a little bigger than normal, but they were surprised to see his weight after birth. Terica said, "We knew the baby would be big, but we didn't expect it to be this big."

Terica, a mother of four, said that Sean Jr. is currently wearing three- to six-month-old baby clothes and diapers. She jokingly said, "It feels like I've gone straight back to being the mother of a three-month-old." According to the hospital's doctors and nurses, the delivery process was challenging, but both mother and baby are doing perfectly well. The hospital shared a photo of Sean Jr. on its official Facebook page, which also shows another newborn baby, Margot, born on the same day. Margot weighed only 1.8 kilograms (about 4 pounds).

The hospital wrote in a post that while record-breaking 13-pound Sean Jr. was born, the family was also blessed with the arrival of 4-pound baby Margot. Margot's mother said that seeing the two babies together deepens the realization that every child is special and unique.
