New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Cheese and soybeans are a great source of protein for vegetarians. Not everyone enjoys soybeans, but cheese is a favorite among everyone, from children to the elderly.

Some people experience heaviness in the stomach, gas, sour belching, and digestive problems after eating cheese. This is because few people know the correct method and timing of consuming cheese.

According to Ayurveda, cheese can be both nectar and poison, the only difference lies in the correct way of eating it. People of all backgrounds consider cheese healthy, but some individuals need to exercise caution when eating cheese. For example, those with elevated uric acid levels should limit their cheese intake. Protein in such situations increases the uric acid levels in the body, leading to increased joint pain.

People with poor digestion should also eat cheese in moderation. Cheese is heavy and takes longer to digest. People with poor digestion should eat cheese cooked, not raw. Raw cheese can cause stomach pain. Cheese consumption should also be limited if you suffer from cough and breathing problems. It can worsen sinus problems and aggravate colds and coughs.

Additionally, people suffering from obesity and cholesterol should avoid cheese. Cheese contains fat, which contributes to obesity and cholesterol.

Now the question is how to eat paneer. According to Ayurveda, paneer should always be eaten fresh and homemade. Paneer available in the market is more likely to be adulterated. Additionally, paneer should always be cooked and eaten with spices. Eat it mixed with ginger, black pepper, and turmeric. Avoid eating paneer at night, as it is heavy in nature and digestion slows down at night. Therefore, it is best to consume paneer at lunchtime.
