New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): These days, the intense heat and harsh sunlight have become a major problem for people. The sun's rays are so strong during the afternoon that even a short stay outside can cause skin burns. Many people's skin turns red and starts burning. This is called sunburn. This problem occurs when the sun's ultraviolet rays damage the upper layer of our skin. Dust and pollution also weaken the skin further during this time, due to which its effects on the body become visible quickly. In such a situation, home remedies that cool the body and provide relief to the skin can prove to be very helpful.

Aloe vera is considered one of the easiest and most effective remedies for sunburn. Aloe vera is a plant that contains antioxidants like polysaccharides and vitamins A, C, and E. It contains a cool, viscous gel that instantly cools the skin. When applied to the burned area, it gradually reduces the heat. Its natural ingredients help reduce skin inflammation.

Cucumber is also very useful for sunburns because it is approximately 95 percent water. It hydrates the skin. When skin is sunburned, it loses moisture, causing a burning sensation and tightness. Applying cucumber juice helps restore moisture to the skin, soothing it and gradually reducing redness.

Meanwhile, rose water is another age-old and easy remedy. Rose water is made from rose flowers, and its extract has anti-inflammatory properties. Furthermore, rose water's pH level is very close to the skin's natural pH, helping to maintain its balance. When applied to the skin, it provides an instant cooling sensation and reduces irritation. It soothes the skin's nerve endings, reducing pain.
