New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Shocking figures of car sales have come out in the Indian automobile market for the month of February 2026. These figures have given sleepless nights to big companies like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. Customers have showered immense love on the cars of the Indian company Tata Motors, due to which Tata Nexon has taken the number one position in terms of overall sales. Last month, Tata Nexon was bought at such a rapid pace that it has broken all the old sales records.

Tata Nexon wins, Dzire and Punch also ahead in the race

In February 2026, the Tata Nexon performed exceptionally well, selling a total of 19,430 units. Compared to February 2025 (15,349 units) exactly a year ago, sales have increased by a massive 27 percent. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire secured second place on the list, selling 19,326 units, a 32 percent increase over the previous year. Another powerful Tata micro-SUV, the Tata Punch, reached the homes of 18,748 customers with a strong 29 percent growth. Hyundai's most popular SUV, the Creta, came in fourth with a 10 percent increase.

WagonR and Baleno lose their status

While Tata and Mahindra SUVs are enjoying a strong craze, some of Maruti's evergreen cars are losing their sheen. Sales of the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, once one of India's best-selling cars, have seen a massive 25 percent decline this year, pushing it down to seventh place. Sales of the Maruti Swift and Baleno have also fallen.
