New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)– Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the ongoing tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran. Sharing details on social media, the Prime Minister said the two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation. India expressed concern over recent developments and emphasized that the safety of civilians must remain a priority, while also calling for an early end to the conflict.


Earlier, the Prime Minister also spoke with Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and strongly condemned the recent attacks on the Gulf nation. He expressed condolences for the loss of lives and assured that India stands in solidarity with the UAE during this difficult period. He also appreciated the UAE leadership for ensuring the well-being of the large Indian community living there and reiterated India’s support for peace, stability and de-escalation in the region.


Meanwhile, amid the ongoing conflict, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has died, after which the country announced 40 days of mourning. A black flag was raised at the Imam Reza Shrine, while Iranian missions observed mourning by lowering the national flag. Iran has also called on countries around the world to condemn the attacks carried out by the United States and Israel.
