Army's rapid action in Chhattisgarh, bodies of 7 Maoists and huge cache of weapons recovered

Bijapur (The Uttam Hindu): A big action has been taken against Naxalites in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. According to the information, bodies of 7 Maoists have been recovered so far during the anti-Naxal operation going on in the national park area here.
Bastar IG P Sundarraj said, 'The security forces have so far recovered the bodies of a total of 7 Maoists during the ongoing anti-Naxal operation in the National Park area of Bijapur district. These include the bodies of Central Committee member Gautam alias Sudhakar and Telangana State Committee member Bhaskar.' He said, 'A total of 7 Maoist bodies have been recovered after several encounters on 5, 6 and 7 June 2025 as part of the ongoing anti-Naxal operation in the National Park area of Bijapur district. Efforts are still on to ascertain the identity of the bodies of 5 unidentified Maoists recovered by the security forces.'
Bastar IG P Sundarraj said, 'Along with the recovery of the bodies, a large cache of arms and ammunition including 2 AK-47 rifles has been seized from the encounter sites. Search operations are still going on in the surrounding forest areas. Some security personnel suffered injuries due to snake bites, bee stings, dehydration and other operational injuries. They are being provided proper medical treatment right now. Their condition is normal and out of danger.' Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh said, 'Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also set a deadline that Naxalism will be eradicated from India by 2026. The police is also working with full force and we will get 100 percent success.'
