Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): The Aam Aadmi Clinic Scheme, launched in Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has today become a symbol of a new revolution in healthcare in the state. This historic initiative has not only strengthened Punjab's healthcare system but has also brought about a real change in the lives of ordinary people. Previously, rural and poor people had to travel to major cities and government hospitals for even minor ailments, but now they can access free and quality treatment at Aam Aadmi Clinics established in their neighborhoods or villages.

This scheme of the Punjab government has proven to be a major step towards equality in healthcare. According to Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, today there are 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics operating in the state, of which 565 are in rural areas and 316 in urban areas. Approximately 73,000 patients are receiving free treatment daily through these clinics. This data demonstrates that the people of Punjab are reposing faith in this scheme and viewing it as a true public service.

The achievements of these clinics are unparalleled. Over the past few years, a total of 42 million citizens have received treatment at Aam Aadmi Clinics. Of these, 22.9 million patients received treatment in general OPDs, while over 19.1 million underwent various tests. Of these, 61.3 million blood tests and 24.8 million sugar tests were completely free, proving that the Punjab government is taking responsibility for people's health without burdening their pockets.

This scheme has proven to be a boon, especially for women, children, and the elderly. According to reports, 13.9 million women, 61.3 million children, and 24.8 million elderly patients have received treatment at these clinics. This clearly demonstrates the government's equal attention to all sections of society. This is not just a health project, but has also become a model of social justice, where every individual enjoys equal health rights.

The Punjab government's goal is not only to provide treatment but also to raise public awareness about health. Aam Aadmi Clinics have been developed as health awareness centers, where patients are educated on disease prevention, the importance of a nutritious diet, exercise, and regular checkups. This is improving people's lifestyles and preventing disease.

Dr. Balbir Singh says that through these clinics, the government is not only making health services accessible but also providing doctors and paramedical staff to every village. This has decentralized health services and strengthened the health infrastructure in rural Punjab. People no longer have to visit district hospitals for minor ailments, reducing the burden on them.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has clearly stated that the purpose of Aam Aadmi Clinics is not just to provide treatment, but to make Punjab a healthy and self-reliant state. This government model has become an inspiration for other states, where discussions are now underway to follow Punjab's path. The Mann government has proven that change is possible when intentions are clear and policies are in the public interest. Today, the same message is resonating from every corner of Punjab: Aam Aadmi Clinics are not just buildings, but symbols of public service. These clinics symbolize the new thinking that has brought healthcare to every home in Punjab. This initiative by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his team has proven how a sensitive government can meet people's expectations. This is not just about health reform, but the true definition of public welfare—establishing Punjab as a model state in the country. (Advertorial)
