Aam Aadmi Party's landslide victory in the Tarn Taran by-election - The public has endorsed the politics of work: Anurag Dhanda

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): Regarding the Aam Aadmi Party's landslide victory in the Tarn Taran by-election in Punjab, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda issued a statement on Friday, saying that the people of Punjab are no longer influenced by the showmanship of leaders imported from Delhi or Haryana. This victory is a strong endorsement of the public welfare work of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's government and an echo of Arvind Kejriwal's politics of honesty.
Anurag Dhanda, National Media Incharge of the Aam Aadmi Party, said, “This victory is a befitting reply from the people of Punjab to both the BJP and the Congress. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini came to Tarn Taran for a day to campaign, but the people told him that they would no longer be swayed by either the Congress or the BJP. As a result, the BJP even lost its deposit.
Anurag Dhanda said that Nayab Singh Saini's campaigning in Tarn Taran proved to be a curse, not a good omen, for the BJP. His image in Haryana as a failed Chief Minister has already been established. Instead of providing relief to the people, his tenure has exacerbated inflation, unemployment and the suffering of farmers. This negative image has also weighed heavily on the BJP in Punjab.
He said that the people of Punjab have given a clear message that only those who work for the people will win their hearts. Arvind Kejriwal's development model has become the people's choice across the country. Previously, the Aam Aadmi Party had won resounding victories in the Gujarat and Punjab by-elections. Whether it's free and quality education or treatment at Mohalla Clinics, he added. Whether it's relief schemes for farmers or the common man's relief from electricity bills—the Mann government has won the public's trust on every front.
Anurag Dhanda further said, "The victory in Tarn Taran shows that Punjab has now completely rejected the politics of false nationalism and hatred. Here, the people accept the politics of service, not the arrogance of power."
He said that this victory is the result of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's leadership, honest governance, and the hard work of every Aam Aadmi Party worker. This victory shows that only politics of work will prevail in Punjab, not those who sell false dreams.
Anurag Dhanda said that both the BJP and Congress should now understand that no outsider can win elections in Punjab. Here, the people only vote for those who live among them, understand their pain and suffering, and work to address them.
"The victory in Tarn Taran is not just about one seat, it's about Punjab's self-respect, honesty, and justice. Punjab has made it clear that this state belongs to those who work, not those who practice politics of failure and pretense.
