AAP Gheraoes Congress Leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira’s Residence in Bholath for Sharing Misleading Video

Bholath (Kapurthala)(The Uttam Hindu) : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday gheraoed the residence of Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira in Bholath after he shared an edited and doctored video of AAP leader Atishi on social media with the intention of misleading the public and hurting sentiments.

The protest was organised under the leadership of Sajjan Singh Cheema, Sultanpur Lodhi Halqa Incharge, and Sarabjit Singh Lakhana, AAP District President. A large number of AAP leaders and workers participated in the gherao and raised slogans against the Congress leadership for what they termed as irresponsible and unethical politics.

AAP leaders present at the protest said that Sukhpal Singh Khaira did not even bother to verify the authenticity of the video before sharing it. “This clearly shows that such leaders do not care about truth or facts. Their only aim is to indulge in dirty politics, even if it comes at the cost of public sentiments and social harmony,” the party leaders said.

Condemning the act, AAP leaders stated that in their hunger for power, opposition leaders have crossed all limits and have not spared religion, caste or even revered Gurus. They alleged that after failing to question the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government on the basis of its work and governance, opposition parties are resorting to spreading lies and misinformation through doctored videos.

AAP reiterated that it will continue to expose the false and misleading propaganda of the opposition and will not tolerate any attempt to mislead people, hurt religious sentiments or disturb peace in Punjab. The party asserted that the people of the state are standing firmly with the Bhagwant Mann government and will give a fitting reply to such divisive politics.
