Patiala (The Uttam Hindu): A sensational case has come to light in Kharkan village of Kaithal district, where a young man was kidnapped, brutally beaten and his legs were broken. The victim has blamed this horrific incident on Kulwant Singh Bajigar, MLA from the Shutrana constituency of Patiala district, Punjab, his two sons, and other associates. Based on the victim's complaint, the Guhla police station has registered a case against the accused at the Ramthali outpost and has begun an investigation.

The victim, Gurcharan, a resident of Chichad Wali village, stated in his complaint to the police that he had contested the village sarpanch election. MLA Kulwant Bajigar's brother also contested the same election. Gurcharan alleges that the MLA and his brother had held a grudge against him since the election.

According to the victim, on October 28, he and a friend had gone to Kharkan village to collect gravel. Some young men in a Swift car forced him out of the car at gunpoint.

Gurcharan alleged that two young men were armed with pistols, while another was armed with an iron rod. They kidnapped him, forced him into a car, and drove him to a canal. The accused received a video call from the MLA's son, Gurmeet, also known as Vicky. The son allegedly asked, "Will you upload a video against my father again?" The other son then said, "Break both his legs."

It is alleged that after this "order," the attackers repeatedly struck Gurcharan's legs with rods, breaking them. Later, seeing people approaching, the accused fled the scene.

The injured Gurcharan has now released a video on social media from the hospital, directly challenging the MLA. In the video, he says, "Kulwant Singh MLA, you made a grave mistake by orchestrating the attack. You would have been right to have me killed. You have put a dead snake around your neck. Your future generations will remember how you break someone's legs."

Gurcharan also said that apart from the election rivalry, there was also a land encroachment case which was to be demarcated, and the accused were pressuring him to compromise.

DSP Guhla Kuldeep Beniwal said that the police have registered a case based on the complaint of the victim, Gurcharan. The matter is being investigated seriously, and further action will be taken based on the investigation.
