Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Jalandhar Central, Raman Arora’s troubles refuse to end. Barely a day after securing bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the legislator has once again been arrested and sent to three days of police remand.

According to sources, the fresh arrest is linked to an FIR registered on 23rd August, based on a complaint filed by a contractor named Ramesh. The complaint alleged that the MLA had been receiving payments of ₹30,000 on a regular basis. However, Arora’s legal team has strongly questioned the timing of the arrest.

Defending his client, advocate Naveen Chaddha said, “If contractor Ramesh had actually been paying money, why did he wait so long to file a complaint? This FIR is just another attempt to ensure that MLA Raman Arora remains in jail.”

The complainant Ramesh is reported to be involved in parking contract work, and sources suggest that political motives could be driving the back-to-back cases against Arora.

For now, Arora’s release looks unlikely as the remand order ensures he stays in custody, prolonging the legal and political battle that has already put the AAP MLA under a cloud of controversy.
