AAP MLA Raman Arora Gets Death Threat, ₹5 Crore Ransom Demanded

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab AAP MLA from Jalandhar, Raman Arora, has received death threats demanding ₹5 crore. Arora has filed a complaint with the police, stating that he received two threatening calls from an international number. The caller demanded ₹5 crore and warned that if the amount was not paid, he and his family would be shot.
According to Arora’s complaint to Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur, the first threatening call came on November 8, followed by another on November 9. In both instances, the caller demanded money and issued dire threats. The MLA mentioned that the caller did not disclose his name or any gang affiliation, only insisting on the ransom.
So far, MLA Raman Arora has not released any audio recording related to the incident. It is worth noting that around six months ago, the Vigilance Bureau had arrested him and recovered approximately ₹5.5 lakh in cash, nearly one kilogram of gold jewelry, and some silver ornaments from his residence.
