AAP Punjab Women Wing Providing Food, Personal Hygiene Essentials and Medical Assistance to Women in Flood Affected Areas

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Women Wing President, Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora (MLA Moga), on Tuesday assured the people of Punjab that AAP stands firmly with every flood-affected family in the state. She emphasized that the Women Wing, in coordination with AAP government's medical and welfare departments, will ensure uninterrupted support in the form of ration, personal hygiene essentials, and medical services for women and children in flood-affected villages.


Dr. Arora, who was accompanied by senior Women Wing leaders Swaranjeet Kaur (Zone Incharge, Malwa) and Kashmir Kaur (District Women Wing President, Mohali), said, “No kitchen will be left without food, no woman will face lack of personal hygiene products, and no patient will remain without medical care. From the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, our Cabinet Ministers, MLAs to every volunteer, all AAP wings are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the flood-hit people.”


She informed that several districts, including Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Fazilka, Ferozepur and Tarn Taran, have been severely affected due to heavy rainfall. CM Bhagwant Mann himself visiting Gurdaspur and Pathankot today to assess the situation and extend immediate help.


Dr. Arora further announced that the Women Wing is setting up medical camps in flood-affected villages in collaboration with the Health and Women Welfare Departments. These camps will provide treatment and medicines under the supervision of a team of specialists including gynecologists, dermatologists, eye specialists and general physicians. She also shared that in relief camps, even deliveries were successfully conducted, ensuring women and infants received proper medical care.


*Highlighting the focus on women’s health, Dr. Arora said, “Along with medicines, sanitary pads and essential ration supplies will be provided to women in these villages.* We will make sure that no mother, sister or daughter feels helpless in this time of crisis.”


*The AAP also released a flood helpline number – 0181-2240064 – for people who are in need of assistance but unable to directly reach the relief teams.*


Concluding her statement, Dr. Arora thanked the media for spreading awareness and reiterated, “Under the guidance of our senior leadership and CM Bhagwant Mann, every wing of AAP Punjab is standing firmly with the people. Our Women Wing will reach every affected village and continue seva (service) until relief is fully ensured.”
