AAP to BJP: Stop Politicizing Tragedies and Take Responsibility for Your Own Failures

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Pawan Kumar Tinu expressed deep sorrow over the tragic spurious liquor incident in Majitha, calling it a matter of grave concern. He highlighted that the Punjab Police has taken swift action, registering two FIRs in the Majitha and Kathunangal police stations under Sections 304, 302, and 61A of the Excise Act, which carry provisions for life imprisonment, along with charges under the SC/ST Act, 1989.
Tinu questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for raising concerns about the incident, while remaining silent on the plight of Dalits and minorities in BJP-ruled states like Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. "The oppressive atmosphere under BJP rule and the atrocities committed against Dalits are well-documented," Tinu stated.
Tinu underscored the promptness of the AAP government in taking strict action, with 18 arrests made so far, including key culprits involved in the supply and production of the spurious liquor. "Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government is committed to taking stringent action against such heinous crimes, and this case is no exception," he asserted.
He further revealed that the Punjab Police seized 600 liters of a highly toxic chemical substance, methanol, which was brought into Punjab from Delhi and used to produce the deadly liquor. Tinu urged the BJP-led central government and the Delhi administration to ensure better regulation and accountability for such hazardous chemicals, emphasizing that their misuse has resulted in devastating consequences for the people of Punjab.
"It is essential for the BJP to reflect on its role and responsibilities instead of merely opposing the Aam Aadmi Party. They must address the unchecked flow of lethal chemicals into Punjab and take measures to ensure that these substances do not fall into the wrong hands," Tinu stated.
Tinu remarked, "The AAP government acts decisively against such incidents, ensuring justice and safety for its citizens. The BJP leadership must introspect and update themselves about the ground realities before pointing fingers."
The AAP leader concluded by reaffirming the party's commitment to justice and the welfare of the people, promising continued strict action against those responsible for such crimes.
