Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Pakistani don Shahzad Bhatti's henchman Davinder Singh Baja was injured in a police encounter at around 10:30 pm on Saturday night in Daroli village of Adampur police station in Jalandhar rural. He has been brought to the government hospital in Adampur in the injured hospital. He has been shot in his right leg. Shooter Baja resident of village Damunda (Adampur) fired at the house of NRI social media influencer Simran Sikand alias Sam in Model Town, Hoshiarpur on the night of 9 August. Pak don Bhatti took the responsibility of the firing. Bhatti was demanding ransom by threatening to throw a grenade at Sam's house. Earlier, Baja had shot Harmanpreet Singh, son of ASI Sukhwinder Singh in Adampur on 26 June. The bullet hit his leg. Police had caught Baja's accomplice Parminder Singh, but Baja himself was absconding. DSP Kulwant Singh has confirmed the encounter.

Incharge of Adampur police station Ravinder Pal told that he had received inputs that Pak don Bhatti's henchman Baja was coming to Adampur area. After this, on Saturday night itself, SHO Ravinder Kumar and CIA staff team under the supervision of DSP Inderjit Singh Saini and Kulwant Singh had started searching for him by putting up a blockade in the area. The blockade was done near village Daroli at around 10:30 pm. During this, when the team tried to stop Baja who was coming on a bike, he started firing. One bullet hit the SHO's official vehicle. After this, the team surrounded him. Before Baja could fire the second shot, the police shot him in the leg and made him fall and took him to the hospital. Only after Baja recovers, it will be clear why he shot at ASI's son and how he came in touch with the Pak don. There are 3 criminal cases registered against Baja.
