After Withdrawing Previous Notification, On the Same Date Centre Issues Deceptive Notification to Mislead Protestors: AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Malvinder Singh Kang on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government for what he termed an “illegal and unconstitutional attempt to undermine autonomy of Panjab University and Punjab.”
Kang revealed that the Centre issued a fresh notification on November 4, 2025, withdrawing its earlier October 28 notification concerning Panjab University, which was to take effect from October 30, but only to deceptively reissue a new one the same day. “Within minutes, the Centre issued another notification with the same date, merely stating that the implementation of the earlier one will take effect whenever the Government of India decides. This is nothing but a mockery and a deliberate attempt to test the spirit of Punjabis,” Kang said.
The AAP MP asserted that the Union Government has no constitutional authority to issue any notification related to Panjab University. “This is a direct attack on Punjab’s rights, an illegal and unconstitutional act. The BJP is trying to play with the emotions of Punjabis. But let me make it clear: Punjabis will never bow before the Centre’s bullying or dictatorship,” he declared.
Kang reiterated that the Punjab Government’s stand is firm, the illegal notification must be withdrawn, and the schedule for the Senate elections of Panjab University must be issued immediately. “Our fight will continue until both these demands are met,” he affirmed.
He further said that CM Bhagwant Mann and the Punjab Government are committed to using every available route, legislative, legal, and constitutional, to safeguard the state’s rights. “We will take this issue to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha and annul this illegal notification. BJP’s gundagardi, dadagiri, and dictatorship will never succeed in Punjab,” Kang declared emphatically.
