Amritsar Bus Stand Shooting, 1 Transport Employee Killed; Dispute Over Passenger Seating

Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): This morning, multiple shots were fired at the Amritsar bus stand, leading to the death of a transport employee. Passengers panicked after the firing. Police recovered six bullet shells from the spot and are checking CCTV footage. Initial investigation shows the dispute began over boarding passengers. The accused fled the scene after firing, and police have launched a search operation.
According to the information, two private bus employees had been arguing for a long time. The situation escalated when one of them, in anger, pulled out a weapon and opened fire. Makhan, an employee of Kahlo Bus, was hit by around four bullets. He collapsed on the spot and died. Police reached the location after receiving the information and began an investigation.
ACP Gagandeep said they received a call about firing at the bus stand and immediately sent a team. Initial findings confirm the dispute was related to bus timing and picking up passengers first.
Police recovered six bullet shells from the scene and are scanning the nearby CCTV footage to identify the shooter and track his movements. The accused has fled, and the search has been intensified.
