Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): Counterintelligence in Amritsar has arrested two suspects during an operation against drug trafficking. Seven kilograms of heroin (chitta) was recovered from their possession. According to police, this consignment is estimated to be worth crores of rupees in the international market.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested suspects have been transporting heroin consignments from one location to another for a long time. They were part of a supply chain, delivering the drugs through various contacts. Police suspect they may have links to smugglers operating in border areas and other states.

A case has been registered in this matter under the NDPS Act at the State Special Operations Cell, Amritsar. Police have begun questioning the accused and are identifying other individuals associated with them. Efforts are also underway to determine where the consignment originated and to whom it was intended.

DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that the accused's mobile phones, call details, and other technical evidence are also being examined to identify the remaining members of the network. Police officials stated that the campaign against those involved in drug trafficking will continue and that strict action will be taken against such activities.
