Big win for Arvind Kejriwal in two Enforcement Directorate cases, Arvind Kejriwal says, “Satyameva Jayate”
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant legal development, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday acquitted former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal in two cases filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), bringing clear judicial closure to proceedings initiated over the agency’s summons in the excise policy matter.
Responding to the court’s verdict on Thursday, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated on X, “Satyameva Jayate.”
The order was passed by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Paras Dalal of the Rouse Avenue Courts, which discharged Arvind Kejriwal in both complaints filed by the ED.
Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia said, “No matter how hard one tries to suppress the truth, it ultimately comes out. Satyameva Jayate.”
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh stated, “The BJP’s misdeeds will meet their end, and justice will prevail. Once again, the conspiracy to falsely implicate Arvind Kejriwal by misusing the ED and the CBI has been exposed. The court’s order is a stinging rebuke to the Modi government.”
Former Delhi CM and Delhi Assembly LoP Atishi stated: “Truth may be harassed, but it cannot be defeated. Once again, all the conspiracies of the BJP and its Enforcement Directorate have been laid bare in court, and truth has prevailed. Arvind Kejriwal is staunchly honest and will always remain so.”
AAP National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda stated: “Once again, Arvind Kejriwal has been proven right, and the ED and the BJP have been proven wrong. Arvind Kejriwal had said from the very beginning that the ED summons were politically motivated and that the agency was being used as a political weapon by the BJP. Today’s developments vindicate that position. The BJP should apologise to the nation for indulging in such petty and motivated actions.”
AAP Punjab President Aman Arora said that once again, truth has prevailed over lies, deceit and political vendetta.
Aman Arora stated that for a long time, the BJP-led central government had been misusing agencies like the ED to file false and baseless cases against Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders. The sole objective, he said, was to malign AAP’s image and weaken Kejriwal’s politics. “Today’s court verdict has clearly exposed these attempts,” he added.
He said that the acquittal of Arvind Kejriwal in ED cases proves that the allegations were fabricated and politically motivated. “The BJP government’s intention was never justice; it was only to harass and defame our National Convenor,” Aman Arora said.
Aman Arora further remarked that the central government and the BJP should learn a lesson from today’s verdict and put an end to such oppressive and vindictive politics. “Democracy cannot survive on intimidation and false cases. The people are watching, and the truth always comes out,” he said.
