Bikram Singh Majithia’s Bail Plea Rejected; To Remain in Jail

Mohali (The Uttam Hindu): Former Punjab minister and SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia has got a setback from the Mohali court. The court has rejected Majithia's bail plea. Now Majithia will have to knock the doors of Punjab and Haryana High Court.
By the way, Bikram Majithia's wife has reached the High Court. Bikram Singh Majithia's wife Ganiv Kaur has filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court demanding cancellation of the notice issued against her. This notice was sent on 10 August 2025 in connection with the FIR registered against her husband Bikram Singh Majithia in the disproportionate assets case. Some documents have been sought from Ganiv Kaur in the notice. The Punjab government has clarified that Ganiv Kaur is not an accused in this case, but she has been issued a notice as a witness.
Majithia's lawyer Arshdeep Singh Kaler said that the court rejected the petition and said that the investigation of the case is still pending. As soon as we get the order of the Mohali court, after doing a thorough investigation, we will challenge it in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
