BJP Pressure Forces Punjab Government to Scrap Controversial Land Pooling Act – “Historic Victory for Farmers and 3 Crore Punjabis,” Says Amit Tane

Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu): In a dramatic political turnaround, BJP Media Panelist and Jalandhar Cantt. Sevadar Amit Taneja hailed the Punjab Government’s decision to withdraw the Land Pooling Scheme as a historic win for Punjab’s farmers and 3 crore citizens.
Taneja declared that massive statewide protests and BJP’s relentless opposition compelled the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government to roll back the scheme, which had already been put on hold by the Punjab and Haryana High Court until September 10.
Calling it a victory for Punjab’s annadatas, Taneja accused CM Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal of plotting to seize farmers’ land under the guise of this policy. “Punjab’s people have proven they will go to any lengths to protect their land and rights,” he said.
He added that from day one, the BJP stood shoulder-to-shoulder with farmers in every district, voicing strong resistance at every forum. “It is the power of the people and BJP’s aggressive protests that shattered the arrogance of this corrupt AAP government,” Taneja asserted.
