A blast occurred outside BJP's Punjab office in Chandigarh, shattering a car's windows. Police have sealed the area, launched an investigation, and are reviewing CCTV footage to probe the incident

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): A sudden explosion outside the Punjab State Office of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Chandigarh on Wednesday evening caused panic in the area. Following the incident, police immediately cordoned off and sealed the entire area and launched an investigation.
According to Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur, the blast occurred around 5 p.m. Initial investigations have found an Activa scooter parked at the scene in suspicious circumstances. 70 to 80 pellet-like marks were found on the wall of the party office after the explosion, raising questions about the nature of the blast.
According to police, the impact of the blast shattered the windshield of a nearby car. However, no injuries were reported. Police and forensic teams arrived at the scene and are collecting evidence.
This incident occurred at a time when the police were conducting special checkpoints and checking operations throughout the city. Despite this, the occurrence of such an incident has raised questions about the security
situation. Senior police officers are present at the scene and an investigation is underway from all angles.
Senior BJP leader and spokesperson Vineet Joshi described the incident as serious, saying a loud explosion was heard and several marks were visible on the walls. He said that initially it appears to be a low-intensity explosion, but a thorough investigation is necessary.
At present, the police is scanning the CCTV footage of the surrounding area and investigating suspicious activities.
