Six schools in Jalandhar, the Punjab Assembly and trains to Delhi received bomb threats via email allegedly sent in the name of Khalistan National Army, prompting a major security alert.

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Panic spread in Punjab’s Jalandhar after bomb threats were issued against six private schools, a train heading to Delhi, the Punjab Assembly and statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The threats were reportedly sent through two emails in the name of the “Khalistan National Army.” Following the alert, police and security agencies launched investigations and increased security at the mentioned locations.

According to reports, the first email mentioned institutions including APJ School, Delhi Public School, along with the Punjab Assembly and statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The second email named City Group of Schools, Akal Academy and St. Soldier Divine School. After receiving the threats, school administrations immediately informed the police, and security checks were carried out at several schools. Police teams also reached APJ School to conduct a detailed search.

Threat to remove ambedkar statues by april 14

The email also contained threats regarding statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar installed in Jalandhar district. The message warned that if the statues were not removed by April 14, bomb blasts would be carried out. Different timings for attacks at various locations were also mentioned in the threatening email.

The threatening message was reportedly sent at around 7:37 am from an account named “Habi Danba.” The email included references to potential attacks at multiple locations along with several provocative and threatening statements.

Security agencies launch investigation

After the threats surfaced, police and intelligence agencies immediately began an investigation. Security has been tightened at schools and other sensitive locations. Cyber teams have also been deployed to identify the sender of the email.

Police officials said the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness and security arrangements have been strengthened at all possible targets to prevent any untoward incident.
