Cabinet Minister Harjot Bains set up help desks at Nangal Sewa Sadan and his residence at Gambhirpur

Nangal (The Uttam Hindu): S. Harjot Singh Bains, Cabinet Minister for Education and Information & Public Relations, informed the residents of Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency that 24/7 help desks have been established at Nangal Seva Sadan and his residence in Gambhirpur. People affected by flood-like situations can approach these centers for necessary assistance and supplies.
In a video message released on social media today, Bains said that some donors and well-wishers are offering cash or funds. He requested that if anyone wishes to contribute money, they should coordinate with religious leaders and service organizations such as Baba Satnam Singh, Baba Avtar Singh, Baba Bal Ji, Baba Ji Passiwal Wale, and other social/religious groups who are actively serving in the area.
He added that Panchayat leaders, Sarpanches, youth clubs, AAP volunteers, and administration teams are working tirelessly with him day and night, visiting villages and shifting people living in low-lying areas to relief camps. He personally inspected relief camps and confirmed that full arrangements have been made there.
Due to heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and continuous inflow in the Bhakra Dam catchment area, water levels have risen significantly, leading to regular release of excess water.
Bains appealed to the people not to believe in rumors. The administration is fully alert. Wherever reports of weak embankments along canals or rivers are received, immediate strengthening work is being done, which is saving hundreds of acres of crops, houses, and lives from damage.
He prayed that this difficult time would soon pass. He warned that false rumors such as water being released at night should not be trusted, as the administration is keeping everyone updated on the situation.
He said that both of his residences remain open 24/7 for the public, where ration, medicines, and food are available. A helpline number 87279-62441 has also been issued.
He acknowledged the great support from youth, panchs, and sarpanches, and appealed to them to keep tractors, trollies, sandbags, and soil bags ready when weather permits, so there is no shortage in case of emergency. Finally, he thanked the people of the area for their cooperation in this difficult time.
