Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO and MLAs today extended heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Tourism Minister S. Tarunpreet Singh Sond for their visionary step in establishing the magnificent Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial at Sri Anandpur Sahib. They hailed the move as a momentous tribute to the indomitable spirit and supreme sacrifice of Baba Jeevan Singh (Bhai Jaita Ji), who brought the severed head of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji from Delhi to Sri Anandpur Sahib, upholding the essence of courage and devotion.
The Cabinet Ministers and MLAs Labh Singh Ughoke, Manjeet Singh Bilaspur, Dalbir Singh Tong, Jasvir Singh Sandhu, Balkar Singh and Jaswinder Singh appreciated the Chief Minister’s commitment towards celebrating the state’s glorious past by dedicating this state-of-the-art memorial that immortalizes the legacy of the great Sikh warrior. They said that the project worth Rs.20 crore stands as a beacon of inspiration for future generations while promoting Punjab’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage on a global scale.
They highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab has witnessed a renewed focus on preserving historic sites associated with Sikh history, adding that such efforts not only revive pride in the state’s sacred traditions but also foster a deeper sense of belongin among the youth.
They also lauded the Tourism Minister S. Tarunpreet Singh Sond for his pivotal role in ensuring the project’s timely completion with modern architectural finesse and historical authenticity.
The establishment of this memorial symbolizes the government’s strong resolve to safeguard the stories of valour and sacrifice that define Punjab’s identity, they said, noting that the galleries at the memorial, which narrate the life and contributions of Baba Jeevan Singh Ji, will enlighten visitors about the timeless message of bravery, faith and service.
