Centre’s Attitude Anti-Punjab; PM Modi Hasn't Said a Word of Sympathy for Punjab Even After 15 days: Aman Arora, Harpal Singh Cheema

Chandigarh(The Uttam HIndu): Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s health is better than before and he will return among the people very soon. On Saturday, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, along with Minister Aman Arora, visited the hospital to check on CM Mann’s health.
Speaking to the media, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Chief Minister’s health is improving, and his pulse rate is now normal. He mentioned that CM Mann had been continuously visiting the flood affected districts of Punjab, spending 24 hours on the road, due to which he fell ill. Doctors have advised him to take one or two more days of rest.
Cheema added that the government is fully prepared to deal with the flood disaster in Punjab. “Our officers and ministers are visiting the affected areas to assess the damage. Soon, the report will be submitted to both the Centre and the state government, and compensation will be released accordingly,” he said.
Minister Aman Arora also stated that CM Mann’s health has significantly improved. “Even while in the hospital, he is concerned for the people of Punjab,” said Arora. “He has been taking updates on the flood situation from us and assured the people of Punjab that within a day or two, after recovering, he will personally visit the flood-affected areas and ensure compensation for the loss of crops, houses, and livestock on a priority basis.” He further added that the Chief Minister is monitoring government work through phone and online platforms, ensuring that no work comes to a halt.
After this meeting, both ministers strongly criticized the central government. Harpal Singh Cheema said that the BJP is trying to mislead the public with lies. “Everyone knows the water is coming from the mountains through Himachal and Jammu & Kashmir. When floods hit other states, aid reaches them within three to four days, but even after 15 days, not a single word of sympathy has come from the Prime Minister for Punjab. This is discrimination against Punjab and shows that Taliban is closer to them than Punjab,” said Cheema.
Calling BJP leader Shivraj Chouhan’s visit “shameful,” Aman Arora said, “Punjab is battling nature’s fury, and these people are busy doing politics. Shivraj Ji came here, posed for pictures in knee-deep water, blamed Punjab for illegal mining, but did not give even a penny as relief. Will he level the same accusations against Himachal, Uttarakhand, and Haryana as well?”
Arora further stated that the Centre has withheld ₹60,000 crores belonging to Punjab, and BJP leaders are silent about it. He described this as “petty and anti-Punjab politics” by the BJP.
