Agro-processing unit to come up in Chabbewal after Rajkumar Chabbewal meets Chirag Paswan

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A major agro-processing industry focused on fruits and vegetables is set to be established in Chabbewal Assembly constituency in Punjab marking a significant step towards regional development. The project, involving an investment of several crores has received approval and is expected to become operational within the next 12 months.
The development follows a meeting between Member of Parliament Rajkumar Chabbewal and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, where detailed discussions were held regarding the project. After the meeting, the proposal was cleared at the central level paving the way for its implementation.
Officials said the upcoming unit will generate large-scale employment opportunities in the region particularly benefiting women. The Punjab government has also assured full support to facilitate smooth execution of the project.
Experts believe the initiative will significantly boost fruit and vegetable cultivation in the Kandi region and nearby areas. It is expected to enhance farmers’ incomes by providing modern processing facilities for crops such as peas and potatoes, while strengthening the overall agricultural value chain.
