Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): A fresh controversy has erupted in Jalandhar after an attempt was made to burn an effigy of Sidhu Moosewala’s mother, Charan Kaur. Through her lawyer, Charan Kaur has sent a legal notice of ₹10 lakh to the Christian Global Action Committee.

The notice questions who instructed the group to bring and attempt to burn her effigy. It demands an unconditional public apology within 15 days, publication of that apology in newspapers and on social media for one month, and compensation of ₹10 lakh.

The notice also warns that if the apology is not issued in time, a case will be filed under Section 356 of the BNS, which carries a punishment of up to two years in jail. The Christian community had earlier admitted that the effigy was brought mistakenly during a protest outside the DC office on 10 December, but the incident has angered many fans of Sidhu Moosewala.
