CM Bhagwant Mann Offers Prayers at Golden Temple on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Parv

Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): On the occasion of Prakash Parv, marking the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder and first Guru of Sikhism, celebrations were held across the country. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar to offer prayers and seek blessings for the people of India.
After paying obeisance, CM Mann spoke to the media and said, “First of all, I extend my heartfelt greetings to everyone on the sacred occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary. I bow to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, his followers across the world, and his divine teachings. Some devotees have also gone to Nankana Sahib, and I pray that wherever Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s presence is felt, peace and harmony prevail in the world.”
He further added, “On this special day, I pray to Guru Nanak Dev Ji to bless Punjab with progress and good health for its people. This land is the soil of brave martyrs — may God give strength and prosperity to all who live here.”
Punjab Minister Harpal Singh Cheema also visited Sri Harmandir Sahib to offer prayers. He said, “I have come to seek blessings from Guru Sahib on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Jayanti. I prayed for the progress and prosperity of Punjab, the nation, and the entire world.”
Meanwhile, in Prayagraj, devotees organized a Prabhat Pheri (early morning procession) to mark Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary. Devotees sang hymns and devotional songs to spread the message of equality, love, service, and truth taught by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The procession moved through several localities, inviting residents to join and participate.
In Darbhanga Colony, a local resident told IANS, “Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Today, a Prabhat Pheri is being taken out in the light of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary. People from across the city have gathered, and the procession will move through nearby areas before returning to the house where it began.”
