CM Busy in Foreign Tours, Punjab Government Has Lost Control Over Law & Order: Pargat Singh

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Former Education Minister and MLA Pargat Singh said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has completely lost control over Punjab’s law and order situation. He said Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann remains busy with domestic and foreign tours, but instead he should focus on Punjab’s deteriorating condition so that the people—living under fear—can get relief.
Pargat Singh alleged that AAP is using every possible tactic to “murder democracy” in the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections. Instead of ensuring free, fair and transparent elections, the ruling party is openly violating the Model Code of Conduct.
He conducted an intensive election-related tour across several villages of the Jalandhar Cantt constituency—Kadianwali, Salempur Masanda, Jamsher, Bambianwal, Kukkad Pind, Kot Kalan, Sarhali and Kot Khurd—where he exposed what he called the hollow policies of the AAP government. Going from village to village, he told people how the state government has ruined the law-and-order system and turned Punjab into a “police state.”
He said the beginning of the end of the AAP government has already begun, and that people—fed up with worsening conditions and unfulfilled promises—will soon vote them out of power.
Appealing to people to ensure the victory of Congress candidates in Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections, he alleged that AAP is using the same high-handed tactics seen during the by-elections. Many Congress candidates’ nomination papers were snatched, torn, or later rejected without any valid reason—just to prevent them from contesting. He claimed Congress will secure a massive victory and give AAP a strong response, adding that public sentiment is clearly with Congress.
