CM Mann Plans Breakfast in Punjab Govt Schools, Cabinet Proposal Awaits

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who is on a visit to Tamil Nadu, has said that the 'Breakfast Scheme' will soon be started in government schools in the state. CM Mann, along with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, took stock of the breakfast scheme running in urban primary schools.
He served food to the children and also had breakfast sitting with them. Mann said that the Punjab government will discuss the implementation of this scheme in the cabinet. He said that this will benefit both the nutritional status and education of the children. On this occasion, he also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mann said that "leaders in the country are making false promises, but good days have not yet arrived. Truth always moves ahead, the country is not made by speeches."
Chief Minister Mann said that Punjab is a leader in food grain production and there is no shortage of grains in the state. He said that now Tamil Nadu food has become popular at the national level. Masala dosa, upma and panipuri are easily available in every town of Punjab. However, Punjabi food is considered a bit heavy.
