CM Mann Shows Generosity, Offers Helicopter for Ration & Relief Delivery to Flood Victims

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Many districts of Punjab are currently in the grip of severe floods, due to which the situation is constantly worsening. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has set a unique example by handing over his government helicopter to deliver immediate relief and ration materials to the flood-affected people.
The Chief Minister today visited the flood-affected areas in Dinanagar area of Gurdaspur district to take stock of the situation. There he saw that many villages were completely submerged in water and people were taking shelter on the roofs of their houses. Reaching them and delivering essential supplies remained a big challenge.
After taking stock of the situation, CM Mann said, "After coming here, I came to know that there are many villages where people are not able to even come out of their houses. Due to water entering the houses, people are sitting on the roofs and they are not even able to get ration."
He further said, "Today I am handing over the same helicopter to those people who had given me this helicopter by paying 92 seats. I am leaving it here so that milk, ration and water can be delivered to the people through it."
The Chief Minister issued instructions to the DC on the spot and said that he himself will go back by road. He clarified that this helicopter belongs to the public and it will remain here as long as it is needed for rescue and relief operations.
On this occasion, he also said that no one has control over nature, but his government will make every possible effort to help the people. He also appealed to the central government to give Punjab its due in the form of a relief package in this time of crisis.
