CM Mann to appear before Akal Takht today, Jathedar calls at 4.30 pm CM, says he will arrive at 10 am

Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will appear before Sri Akal Takht Sahib today. Initially, CM Mann was asked to appear at 10 am, but two days ago the Akal Takht revised the timing of his appearance.

In a letter sent by the Akal Takht Secretariat, the Chief Minister was instructed to appear at 4.30 pm instead of 10 am on January 15. Responding to this, CM Mann said that he has no other engagements on January 15. He has already informed the President’s Office that he will not be able to attend President Droupadi Murmu’s programme that day.

The Chief Minister stated that he will devote the entire day to Sri Akal Takht Sahib and will arrive there in the morning. He added that he will present himself like an ordinary Sikh and will appear barefoot before the Akal Takht Sahib.

CM Mann had also demanded that the entire questioning and interaction during his appearance be broadcast live so that the sangat can be fully informed about the proceedings. Meanwhile, Sri Akal Takht has clarified that since the Chief Minister is not an Amritdhari Sikh, he has been directed to appear at the Secretariat and not on the Akal Takht Fasil.
